They believe that food should be eaten and not wasted, and are on a mission to make this a reality. The organization was founded by Calvin Chan, a passionate environmentalist, and entrepreneur, who was inspired to start Green Hero after observing the sheer amount of food waste generated in Penang, Malaysia.
One of the ways that the public can support Green Hero is by saving sardines with a "best before" date in May 2023 and channelling it to an NGO or buying Teriyaki sauce. These sardines were rescued from a food company that was going to dispose of them due to the upcoming expiry date. Instead of letting these sardines go to waste even though it is still edible, Green Hero is encouraging individuals to buy and rescue them by eating it . By doing so, they hope to raise awareness about the issue of food waste and encourage individuals to take action.

Besides that , Green Hero's Teriyaki sauce is also in stock with a close best-before date in May and June 2023. We are looking for both F&B and individuals that may use them in their dishes to rescue it at 50% off the market price so that we don't have to throw the sauce away but instead rescue it for good use.
